Career Satisfaction Matters

Here are the predictions for 2023:

“According to Glassdoor and Indeed’s Hiring and Workplace Trends report, 2023 will continue to see a tight labor market with employers vying for top talent. That means workers will still have the upper hand when it comes to demanding higher pay, better benefits, remote work options and other perks.” (Source: Forbes Magazine, December 2022)

As you may know, I’ve been a career coach for over thirty years. I’ve seen how the labor market cycles impact the career coaching industry. When things are tough (like post 9ll, the great recession and the pandemic) no one is calling a career coach. Employees and employers hunker down and stay put.

Good times for employees are good times for career coaches. People have the opportunity and the confidence to make changes. Add to this, the emergence of remote work and the unrelenting demand for more flexibility and life balance. Workers in all generational cohorts are setting new standards for their quality of life and their level of job satisfaction. Thus, they are motivated to invest in career coaching support.

Indeed.com, the highest traffic job site, agrees:  "With the high demand for career coaches to assist individuals during this time of the great resignation, when many are unsure of their careers, and we are facing a skills shortage, the need for career coaching is greater than ever." May 19, 2022

If you’ve long thought about becoming a coach, either as a business owner or as an internal coach within and organization, there is a rare opportunity right now. It is specifically in the career coaching space and it is exciting.

If you are interested in becoming a career coach, make sure you attend a school that is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). It not only assures you that you training will be high quality, ethical and comprehensive. It also opens the door to your ICF coaching credentials. You need this distinction if you want to solicit work from companies that hire career coaches (Skill Soft, Better Up, and Bundle Benefits to name a few).

The Career Coach Entrepreneur Academy (CCEA) is enrolling for the cohort starting January 10, 2023. We are an ICF accredited program offering 60 hours of live virtual instruction and self-study, 10 hours of mentor coaching, abundance coaching practice, peer coaching and entrance into a supportive group of alumni, available to support your ongoing growth.
